What “local processing” means on OpenToolSuite

Updated 2026-09-06. This is a working note for a live tool, not legal, tax, or professional advice.

A LOCAL label means the visible tool action uses the current browser session instead of posting your selected file to an OpenToolSuite processing queue. It does not mean the device, browser, extension set, or downloaded result is automatically secure.

To verify the claim, open developer tools, select Network, clear the list, then run a file workflow. You should not see the chosen document sent to opentoolsuite.com. Some tools may download public code, fonts, or an OCR language model; that is different from uploading your document.

Optional analytics and advertising remain off until you allow them. Even after consent, LOCAL-tool file contents are not intended to be sent to analytics providers. The contact form is different: the message you submit must reach persistent storage so the owner can reply.

Browser storage can keep preferences, favourites, recent tools, consent, and some drafts. Clear site data after using a shared computer. Avoid installing untrusted extensions, because an extension with page access can observe information outside OpenToolSuite’s control.

If a future workflow needs server processing, its page should identify that before the action begins and explain what is transmitted. Privacy claims should remain specific enough that a user can test them.

WORKED EXAMPLE · ILLUSTRATIVE INPUT

Distinguish engine downloads from file uploads

Network entryMeaningWhat to inspect
JavaScript or WASM downloadBrowser loads a processing enginePublic resource request
OCR language-model downloadBrowser loads recognition dataNo statement or scan in the request
File-data POST to a processing serviceDocument leaves the deviceDestination and request payload

Use a synthetic sample while learning the Network panel. Clear requests, select the file and run the tool. Inspect outgoing payloads rather than concluding that any network activity is an upload. Browser extensions, operating-system backups and a destination you later upload to are outside the local-processing claim.
