WORKED EXAMPLE · ILLUSTRATIVE INPUT

Combine a report and appendix

StepExampleExpected check
InputsReport: 3 pages; appendix: 2 pagesFive output pages
OrderReport first, appendix secondOutput pages 4–5 contain the appendix

Page count checks detect an omitted file, but not every ordering mistake. Compare page thumbnails and a distinctive heading at each join. Keep bookmarks, forms and signatures under separate review because a successful merge does not confirm those features survived.

PRACTICAL GUIDE

How to use PDF Merge & Split with a clear next step.

For a merge, select the PDFs in the order you need and review the file list before processing. For a split, select one PDF, choose the page action, and keep the tab open until all downloads begin. Open the exported file and inspect the first, middle, and final pages before sharing it.

Combine PDFs locally or split a document into page files. Test page order with a small known pair before assembling a large packet. If the first file has two pages and the second has three, a merge should contain five pages, with the second file beginning at page three. File names alone may not reflect the intended reading order, so verify the visible selection list. After splitting, match each downloaded page to its position in the source and rename copies clearly if your browser gives similar names. Inspect mixed page sizes and landscape pages rather than assuming all sources share one format. If processing fails, open each source individually to find a damaged or encrypted input, then try a smaller batch. Keep originals intact during that diagnosis. Rearranging signed documents can affect signature validation, so check the result in the reader required by the recipient. Merging does not automatically remove sensitive metadata or hidden content.

HOW THE RESULT WORKS

The workflow copies and reorganizes selected PDF pages in browser memory. It does not send a file to a processing queue, but password protection, corruption, large documents, and browser memory limits can prevent a successful result. Keep the source PDFs until the new copy is verified.

COMMON QUESTIONS

PDF Merge & Split FAQ

Are my files uploaded?

No. The stated merge and split workflow runs in the current browser session.

Why did my PDF fail?

Password protection, damage, size, and browser capability can stop local processing.

Does splitting remove hidden information?

No. Use an appropriate metadata or redaction workflow when that is your goal.
