Build an ATS-friendly resume without keyword stuffing
Start with one target role. Put the most relevant title, skills, and recent evidence near the top, then describe achievements with clear actions and results you can explain in an interview.
A simple text hierarchy is usually easier for both people and applicant-tracking systems to parse. Decorative sidebars and photos may suit some markets, but a text-first version is safer when the application portal provides no formatting guidance.
Use the ATS matcher as an editing checklist, not a score guarantee. Add a missing term only when it accurately describes your experience, project, training, or responsibility. Keyword stuffing without evidence weakens the document.
Check spelling, dates, employment gaps, contact details, portfolio links, and PDF text selection. Copy the exported text into a plain editor to see whether headings and role history remain understandable.
No template guarantees an interview or ATS pass. Employer systems, competition, eligibility, work authorization, and the quality of your evidence still determine the result.
